This time I have visited Drivelife Events for the 2024 "Bakkies and Bolides". An event derived from the Cars & Coffee phenomenon where all kinds of, cars with a story come together. Not neatly behind a fence or bollards, but simply driving, which is what they were made for. A concept developed by and for petrolheads, with the aim of bringing together a very high diversity of unique cars with their owners and thus reducing the gap between the different groups of cars. 2024 Chevrolet Silverado review // Plus our trip to Newfoundland!
This is a Motormouth couple car review of the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country model. The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is in its element in St. John’s, Newfoundland. It’s my first time in Newfoundland, what a beautiful place. We are driving from St. John’s today and heading across Newfoundland The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado has four powertrain options, the base engine is a 2.7L turbocharged 4-cylinder with an 8-speed automatic transmission, 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. We are driving the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado High Country model with a 6.2L V8 paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission, 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. The standard engine for High Country is the 5.3L V8 with 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Standard 4WD for this trim. Another option for 2024 Chevrolet Silverado Silverado, which we are a fan of, is the 3L Duramax turbo diesel with 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque. The Silverado has both 2WD and 4WD options available depending on the trim. There are so many powertrains to choose from and different trims for different budgets. If you want something with all the bells and whistles, High Country is a great option, want an off-road adventurer, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 is perfect, but if want something basic on a budget that still gets the job done, Chevrolet has you covered. This 2024 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck has many variations a regular cab, double cab and crew cab. There’s a standard 6.5 foot-bed, a short 5.6 foot-bed or an 8-foot-long bed depending on the trim. It has a maximum payload capacity of 2,260 pounds. The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 5.3L V8 can tow 11,500 pounds, the 6.2L and Duramax 13,300 pounds and the 2.7L turbo 4-cylinder 9,500 pounds. In Canada, the WT model starts at $54,031 CAD, Custom $58,431 CAD, LT $60,831 CAD, RST $62,731 CAD, Custom Trail Boss $64,231 CAD, LT Trail Boss $70,231 CAD, LTZ $75,231 CAD, High Country $86,731 CAD, ZR2 $89,731 CAD. Prices include, freight, PDI and fees. In the US, WT starts at $36,800 USD, Custom $43,600 USD, Custom Trail Boss $51,800 USD, LT $48,000 USD, RST $51,400 USD, LTZ $57,200 USD, LT Trail Boss $58,000 USD, High Country $62,700 USD and ZR2 $69,900 USD. We have been getting amazing fuel economy, the best numbers so far are 9.1L/100 km, 25.8 MPG.

Audi RS e-tron GT performance - is 925 HP enough?
The Audi RS e-tron GT performance3 is the first fully electric RS performance model. It features unique design elements and stands out from the RS e-tron GT with an optional matte, darkened carbon roof in combination with optional carbon camouflage elements. These elements are a first from Audi and are intended exclusively for the RS performance. The carbon camouflage is used in the embossed bumper structures, the door trim, parts of the diffuser, and the side mirrors. The RS e-tron GT reaches a maximum electric output of 630 kW (856 PS). The RS e-tron GT performance delivers an output of 680 kW (925 PS). This makes it the most powerful production car that Audi has ever built. In all three model variants, the fully electric Gran Turismo from Audi offers impressive driving performance. The S e-tron GT accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, the RS e-tron GT2 in 2.8 seconds. The RS e-tron GT performance3 in only 2.5 seconds. The S e-tron GT1 reaches a top speed of 245 km/h. The RS models (combined electric power consumption in kWh/100 km (62.1 mi): 21.1 –18.4 (WLTP); combined CO2 emissions in g/km (g/mi): 0; CO2 class: A) have a top speed of 250 km/h. A newly developed and enlarged brake system with standard steel discs and black calipers handles negative acceleration in the S e-tron GT. The calipers are available in red as an option. Both RS models include tungsten carbide-coated brake discs, which are optional on the S model. The brake calipers come in the customer’s choice of black, red, or orange. Audi offers carbon-fiber ceramic discs for the entire e-tron GT family.
